London’s Theo Versteegh knows a thing or two about concussions. An alumnus of Western Mustang Football, and a former physiotherapist at the Fowler-Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic, he’s experienced first hand the causes and life changing consequences of head trauma. Theo invented TopSpin360, a training device which attaches to the top of a football helmet. Theo has put his creation into field studies which have delivered promising results – so m uch so that TopSpin360 won the NFL’s prestigious “First and Future” prize of US $50,000 at the 2019 Super Bowl in Atlanta. Theo will paint an enlightening overview of concussions, the science behind prevent, as well as anecdotes of his efforts to market his invention nationally and internationally to sports organizations around the world.
