The Club’s 2015/16 Season kicks off on September 17, 2015 when Western graduate Geoff Beattie addresses members and guests over lunch at the Hilton. Further details will be posted on our website as soon as they are available, but in the meantime, a brief bio for Geoff is below.
LCdr Sean Batte joined the Naval Reserve in HMCS Prevost in 1990 as a MARS officer. He earned his BWK in HMCS Porte De La Reine, and subsequently sailed in numerous Gate Vessels, MSAs and MCDVs. He was among the first to qualify in Mine Countermeasures as well as Coastal Operations, and subsequently taught at the Naval Officer Training Centre VENTURE, and Canadian Forces Fleet School(Quebec). In 2009, he earned his Patrol Craft Officer In Charge designation, and has sailed in numerous ORCA Class ships since. He was promoted to his current rank in 2010, and has served as XO and all HOD positions at HMCS Prevost, as well as holding XO and HOD appointments at sea. More recently, he graduated from the Canadian Forces College Joint Staff and Command Program. LCdr Batte assumed command of HMCS Prevost in August of 2014.
LCdr Batte has earned four degrees, culminating with a Master’s in Medical Biophysics at UWO and a Doctor of Chiropractic in St. Louis, USA. He is married to Lt(N) Becky Haydon-Batte, and welcomed their daughter Modena to their home in May of 2014.
